HUMPERT, Terry M. – of Clio, age 75, died on Monday, August 9, 2021, at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM Thursday, August 12, 2021, at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Military Honors will be held after Mass with cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM, and at the church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Terry was born October 17, 1945, in Reese, Michigan to the late Raymond and Marie (DuKavic) Humpert. He graduated from Reese High School in 1963. Mr. Humpert is a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He proudly served his country and made many dear friends while in the service that he still got together with during reunions. Terry married Mary Jo Harwood on November 19, 1971, in Flint. She preceded him in death April 2, 2014. He owned several fencing companies over the years with his brother before retiring. After retirement, Terry and Mary Jo moved up north to their dream home in Oscoda. He was a member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. He enjoyed boating, carpentry work, and watching sports – especially college football, basketball, and the Detroit Tigers. Terry had a wonderful sense of humor and was quite the jokester. He was very generous and loved donating to many charities in need over the years. Above all, Terry loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and all his granddogs.

Surviving are: Loving daughters: Rae Ann (Mark) Swanson, Stephanie Humpert-Davidson, and Jennifer (Paul) Gardner; Alexandra Swanson, Jack Swanson, Natalie Swanson, and Avery Gardner; Sisters: Virginia (Irv) DeRoche, Carole (Ron) Brown, and Joni Hall; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members, friends, and his breakfast friends, and great neighbors in Oscoda. Terry was also preceded in death by: Brothers: Ted Humpert, Tom Humpert, and Richard Humpert; Sister, Diane Humpert; Brother in law, Jack Hall.
