KEENE, James F. – Of Flint Township, age 87, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Paul Holland officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Jolo, West Virginia on February 9, 1933, the son of the late Charlie and Pearlie (Goodman) Keene.
On March 26, 1960 he married Laverne Adams in Flint.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He loved old cars.
Mr. Keene retired from GM.
Surviving are wife, Laverne;
3 sisters, Lorrene Lee of AZ,
Mary Lou and husband Bob Braden of Flint Township,
Brenda and husband Bill Houk of Swartz Creek;
several nieces and nephews;
brothers-in-law, Luther Moates and Melvin Adams, both of VA;
sisters-in-law, Laura Winn and Jean Adams, both of VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
