Florine M. (Willett) Sanders, age 94, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Florine was born on May 13, 1928 in Dearborn, MI to the late Louis and Bertha Willett.
Throughout her life, Florine was always involved in artistic design. She had an eye for composition and color and was a very talented artist, even having her award-winning dress designs exhibited at the fine arts galleries of Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh. Florine enjoyed nature, planting flowers and tending her vegetable garden. She loved spending time at the family cottage on lake Mecosta, swimming, boating and enjoying the outdoors.
Florine was a skilled seamstress as well as a porcelain doll maker offering classes to many eager students in the area. Florine, with her son Reid, owned several retail furniture and decor stores in the area. She loved collecting antiques and refinishing to give them a new life.
Florine was a caring and loving person, able to make friends anywhere and everywhere she went and always left a memorable impression behind. She will be deeply missed by those she loved and cherished, but her memory will be with them forever.
Florine is survived by her children: Carla (Shawn) Sharp, Brian (Karen) Sanders, and Reid Sanders; grandchildren: Aaron (Dana) Coronado, Grant Sharp, Benjamin Sanders, and Travis Sanders; and great grandchildren: Gavin and Graham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Sanders, and her parents: Louis and Bertha (Thurston) Willett.
A memorial visitation for Florine will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Hill Funeral Home at 11am, with a one hour visitation prior at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America in memory of Florine.
