Robert Martin Brenberger Jr., 66 of Atlanta, MI, passed away at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on October 17, 2010. He was born on May 17, 1944 to Robert and Virginia (Shope) Brenberger in Detroit, MI. Robert served in the US Army National Guard, then went on to serve as a Police Officer for the City of Ferdale for 24 yrs, retiring in 1994. In retirement he was serving as the Avery Twp Zoning Administrator. He was a member of the Ferndale Elks 1588 and FOP Lodge 130. Robert enjoyed his time socializing with friends and living here in Atlanta.
Robert is survived by his wife, Susan of Atlanta, MI; sons, Eric (Melissa) Brenberger and John Brenberger of Grand Haven, MI, and Army SPFC Robert Peters of Traverse City, MI; duaghter, Samantha (Brett) Svacha of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Ashley, Cameron, Madison, and Isabell; mother, Virginia Brenberger of Warren, MI; and brother Keith Brenberger of Warren, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr; and brother, Norman.
As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services for Mr Brenberger planned at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home. Condolence messages can be sent via our website, www.greenfuneralhomes.com
