Pierce, Robert Neil, age 81, passed away surrounded by family on December 7th, 2025. Bob was born September 24th, 1944, in Flint Michigan to Neil Pierce and Duetta (Burly) Pierce. As a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School, Bob went on to proudly serve in the US Army (1964-71), initially in Germany & France, then Vietnam. Upon the conclusion of his service Bob returned to Flint, marrying Gwen Laurie MacKinnon in 1968, (son Adam Pierce b.1979) for whom he was married until her passing in 1997. After 33 years he retired from the Buick Powertrain Flint North Plant in 1998, and spent his time playing golf (for which he excelled, competing in the Michigan State Amateur at Oakland Hills in 1992) and GPS mapping many of Michigan’s courses for Skycaddie. In 1998, Bob married Leane Spoor and remained her devoted husband and best friend for the remainder of his life.
Bob loved muscle cars, motorcycles & racing motocross, fishing, and of course golf. He cherished his family and was an inspiration to those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Leane Pierce; his son, Adam Neil Pierce; daughter-in-law, Amy Pierce; granddaughter, Lucille Gwendolyn Pierce; sister, Jan Sulz; and numerous family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Chandler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
