Of Flint, age 93, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Durand Senior Care Center in Durand. The funeral will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, April 17, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Toni’s family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris to receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Wednesday evening, family and friends will gather at 7:00 pm to pray the Rosary. On Thursday, Toni will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or the North End Soup Kitchen. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Alexandera “Toni” was born September 20, 1920, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josef and Karoline (Schmith) Borkowski. She and Ivan H. Skinner were united in marriage June 29, 1938, in LaGrange, Indiana. Along with being a great mother, she spent many years working in production at Ternstedt. She spent many years as an active member with the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3485. She also enjoyed volunteering her time with many groups, including Alter Society and Wednesday Ladies. She was an avid euchre and cribbage player when she wasn’t trying to win it big at the casino. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Barbara and husband, William Willing, and Betty and husband, Gerald McKeever; 10 grandchildren, Aimee, Elese, Leanne, Mark, Leslie, Annemarie, Paul, Tony, Amanda and Christene; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ivan H. Skinner. Toni’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Durand Senior Care Center and to Home & Hospice Advantage for the loving care they gave.
