ROSE, Elaine Iris – of Davison, MI, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 1:30 PM Friday, December 30, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. Davison, MI 48423; Dorothea Weist officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Thursday, December 29, 2022 and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Elaine was born in Flint, MI on May 27, 1929, daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Fox) Donahue. She married the love of her life, Donald (Dick) Rose on December 10, 1949 in Flint, MI. Elaine was part of the graduating class of 1948 from Flint Northern High School. She was employed by AC Spark Plug for 10 years.
At a young age, Elaine enjoyed watching her soon to be husband play sports. That love carried over to watching her kids and grandkids play sports or anything else they were involved in, choir, dance, cheerleading and art shows. Elaine loved music and singing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davison Choir for many years and also sang with the Flint Council Choir. Elaine was a member of the El Said Court #28 Ladies Oriental Shrine where she played the drum.
Elaine had a passion for shopping (especially shoes) and cherished time spent shopping with her daughters and trips spent up north with them. She loved to be on the go doing something fun especially with her family. Elaine and her husband Dick enjoyed winters spent in Florida.
Elaine is survived by her 3 children; David (Emma) Rose, Randy Rose and Patricia (Fred) Rappuhn; 10 grandchildren, Carson (Stacy) Rose, Natalie (Brian) Money, Nicole Wolpert, Kristen (Luke) Monahan, Tina (Kevin) Schultz, Randall J. Rose, Laila Rose, Garret Rappuhn, Kelly Rose and Landon Rappuhn; 4 step grandchildren, Michele, Scott, Shelly and Terra; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephew who held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dick; daughter, Vicky Lynn; daughter in law, Vickie Rose; 2 brothers, Donald Donahue and Robert Donahue; 3 sisters, Dorothea Uhrig, Gail Morgan and Katherine Lembach.
