Clara Elizabeth Ager, 85, of Charlevoix, went to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 14, 2010. Rite of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 16, at Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix, with the Reverend Jerry Hunko officiating. Friends may meet Clara's family at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix from 6-8:00PM, Friday, October 15th, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:00PM.
Clara was born May 26, 1925, in Bay Shore to Jacob and Margaret (Shatz) Speigl.
In 1947, Clara married Frederick G. Ager in Charlevoix. Together, they, along with their family, owned and operated the Argonne Supper Club in Charlevoix. Ted died on May
27, 1987, and Clara continued to run the restaurant until she retired.
Clara was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix, and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries in Charlevoix.
She is survived by her sons, Fred G. (Juli) Ager of Harbor Springs, Steve
(Michelle) Ager of Charlevoix; daughter, Cindy (Ed) Whitley of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Jamie, and Kevin Whitley; Ashley Ager and Stacey Hoffman; Tami McCracken and Chris Ager; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Speigl, and John (Mary Lou) Speigl of Bay Shore, Fred (Betty) Speigl of Petoskey. Clara was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Moore, and Mary Simon, and brother, Leo Speigl.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Michigan, 220 W. Garfield, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
