MATNEY, SUSAN CORNELIA – Of Flint, age 64, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at her home.
Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Susan was born in Flint, Michigan on July 16, 1960, the daughter of Corenlius and Iola (Kniffin) Griffin.
On April 28, 1979, she married George Matney.
Sue fiercely loved her family, friends, pets, nature and Rock-N-Roll music.
She enjoyed many hobbies, among her favorites were gardening, camping, bird watching, and working on cars with her beloved husband of 46 years.
She was a giver. Sue cared for so many people and was always the first in line whenever someone needed help. No words can describe how dear she was in our lives, or how much she meant to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are husband, George;
daughters, Angela (Jeff) Metiva, Amanda Matney and Sky Mendoskin;
brothers, Michael, Mark, Elsie, Gene and Rick;
sisters, Brenda, Deena and Karen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers.
