Mother Deloris Blount was born May 2,1936 in Smithville, Georgia the daughter of Eugene and Rosie Lee Williams.
Mother Blount attended school in Lee County. She moved to Flint, Michigan where she met her late husband, John Lee Blount. Mother Blount was a faithful servant at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a faithful servant on the Nurses Board and attended Sunday school whenever her health allowed. Whatever was needed to be done, Mother Blount did it with a smile.
She dedicated her life to assisting and raising her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mother Blount leaves to cherish her memory: children, Jeffery Blount, Shirley Smith, Roshanda (Bernard) Larry, and Theron Patrick Williams all of Flint, MI; grandchildren, LaTasha Blount, Tiffany Blount, DaKeesha (Stefan) Fields, Symone Blount, and Faronda (Trey) Smith; great grandchildren, Jaelin Blount, Jaccari Roshell, Jonatton Tripplett, Tony Rett-Henry, and Jade Ferguson; great-great grandchild, Elliana Roshell; sister, Alice Ruth Williams and Clarence Williams all of Flint, MI; sister-in-law, Rosetta Williams; daughter-in-law, Janeen B. Williams; godchildren, Pauletta Price of TX and Tamika Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church family. She also leaves to cherish a host of extended grandchildren that she loved dearly, the Blount, Cochran, Price, and Anthony families.
Mother Blount was preceded in death by: husband, Johnny Lee Blount; parents, Eugene and Rosie Lee Williams; great granddaughter, Crystal Rett-Henry, Kofi Cochran; 3 sisters; 5 brothers; and son-in-law, John Albert Smith (Rooster).
