KINNAMON, James “Jim” T. – Of Millington, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at home surrounded by family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, with Jim’s nephew Pastor Jamie Burkett officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road and 10am on Saturday, February 24, 2024 until the time of service at 11:00a.m.

Per Jim’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service and an inurnment with Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps will be held at a later date.

Jim was born in Flint, Michigan on July 21, 1953, the son of Jess and Dottie (Conley) Kinnamon. He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Jim went on to retire as a Flint Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Jim loved horticulture and sharing the fruits of his labor. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, and boating with friends. He never turned down an opportunity to spend time socializing and having a good time.

Jim loved his family and cherished his friends. His friends meant the world to him and so many of them provided tremendous support for him during his battle with cancer. At the end of his life, he was amazed and so grateful for the love and support that he received from his extended family and was truly blessed with the richness of those friendships.

Jim and his family would like to thank the Veterans Administration of Flint and Ann Arbor for the exceptional care provided by the doctors, nurses, social workers and all the skilled caregivers, as well as the outstanding support from the skilled and compassionate team from Residential Hospice.

Surviving are wife, Sandy Kinnamon;

Mother, Dottie Kinnamon;

Siblings, John (Lora) Kinnamon and Margie (Bob) Burkett;

Many nieces and nephews;

beloved pets, Moose, Spike and Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Kinnamon and brothers, Gary and Bob Kinnamon.
