TREVINO, Alfonso Sr. –
Of Burton, age 82, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his residence. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A burial will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery with Military Honors under the Auspices of the United States Army.
A continuation of the celebration of life following the cemetery at Faith City Church, 806 Main Street, Fenton, MI 48430.
Alfonso was born in Alice, Texas on March 3, 1940. He was the son of the late Alfonso Canales Sr. (Lydia Canales) and Ramona Silva and raised by Jose and Francis (Heredia) Trevino.
Surviving are his wife, Amelia Trevino; children, Alfonso Trevino Jr., Kathleen Trevino, Christopher Trevino, Carlos Trevino and Alicia (Jeremy) Ackels;
grandchildren, Tiffany (Anthony) McConnell, Isla Ackels, Michelle and Christofer Hernandez; great-granddaughter, Elena Barker;
siblings, Juanita (Brian) Holmblade and Alfonso Canales Jr., Candy (Robert) Gonzales, Abraham Canales and Norma Canales; sister-in-law, Joy Trevino;
many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ninfa (Santos) Hernandez, Jose Trevino, Adrian Canales and sister-in-law, Debbie Canales.
