Shawn Matthew Charchan, 47, passed away suddenly November 29, 2024. He was born November 30, 1976 in Flint, Michigan the first-born child of Dennis R. and Tracey M. (Almy) Charchan. After graduation from Davison High School, he attended Marion Military Institute in Alabama for Naval Academy Preparatory School. Shawn then served and was educated as a Cadet at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
He graduated with the Class of 2000 with a BS in Quantitative Economics, and chose Marine Corps to serve. He then attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he received his Masters Degree in Operations Analysis. At the time of death Shawn was the Technical Director of Energy Solutions at CANA LLC, a veteran employed professional company offering logistic operations management to the Department of Defense and civilian operations. Prior to CANA, Shawn worked as a high-level operations analyst with Group W in Virginia, partnering with governmental leaders and the Department of Defense.
Shawn had a brilliant mind and was very educated and well-read. He was constantly on a quest for learning, understanding, and personal improvement. He was beautiful, spiritual, fascinating, engaging, charming, fun, athletic, conversational, empathetic, and complex. Shawn was very skilled; a man’s man.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Madelyn Grace Charchan, loving parents Dennis and Tracey of Attica, beloved sister Jennifer Charchan of Rockford and grandmother Dorothy Almy. Also surviving are his dear friends Jeff Clark, Adam Evans, and his dog Augustus McCrae. The family would like to thank CANA, LLC for their support during this difficult time, and Shawn’s friend and mentor, Max Doty.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 3:00 PM. Family and friends will be gathering starting at 11:00 AM at the Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center (2650 South Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI 48444.)
