DISHNER, George “Ed” – of Davison, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held 1 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Dion Lewellen officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as that was one of George’s favorite causes.
George was born on March 10, 1947, in Lenoir, Tennessee, a small working-class city
situated by the Great Smokey Mountains. George had an incomparable work ethic, he worked for Lear Corp. for 25 years, where he was a Senior Trim Engineer. He was accredited with four patents for how car seats were manufactured. Before his time at Lear, he was a soldier in the United States Army for three years where he was ranked Spec. 5 which is a Sergeant. He played his part in the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. George received a bronze star for his courageous acts during his time of service. He had many hobbies outside of his work life. George was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing softball, and he loved watching football every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. He was also decorated in the show car business winning the Detroit Autorama with his ’57 Chevy and ’65 Chevelle. George thoroughly enjoyed being in his church where he absolutely adored his pastors Dion and Priscilla Lewellen. His work was his hobby too as he would take on countless side jobs to keep himself busy when all else failed. George was an amazing husband, son, father, and grandfather. There were no bounds to him and his love, he was the type of man to remove the shirt off his back and hand it to you in your time of need. He hated knowing that someone he cared about was hurting and would do any and everything in his power to put a smile on your face. He was such a loving, caring, kindhearted man, while he was not very outward with his emotions, you could feel his love just by the way he would look at you. George made contributions towards St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Jewish Foundation, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, and made sure to always pay his tithes in church.
George is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances; his children: Sarah Louise (Matthew) Wagner, Kenneth Ray (Nancy) Dishner, and Dominique Marie (Doug) Keller-Gibson; his numerous grandchildren: Bradley, Brandy, Tristin, Trinity, Brooklyn, Gabriel, Nova, Angelina, Saraya and more. Also numerous great-grandchildren including one unborn, Adonis. He was preceded in death by both parents, George Dishner and Mildred Hall and many aunts and uncles.
George will be remembered for his unwavering love, determination, his amazing sense
of humor, and his devote faith in God. His wittiness, and laughter were gifts to everyone who knew him.
