WILDERSPIN, Gloria M. – Of Flint, age 92, died peacefully Monday, November 20, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Deacon Omar Odette will officiate.
Visitation will be held at 10am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30am.
Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery beside her loving husband.
Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Gloria was born in Lake Linden, Michigan on August 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Michael and Eunice Smith. Gloria, a proud Yooper, graduated from Lake Linden High School, Class of 1949 and she was the Homecoming Queen and voted “Most Sophisticated”. On August 26, 1950, she married Don A. Wilderspin and they moved to Flint in 1955. Don preceded her in death in 1967. Gloria was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She was the Head Teller at Citizens Bank for 25 years.
Surviving are daughter, Shelley (Barry) Sliger;
grandchildren, Gina (Shawn) Ryan, Scott Gillespie;
great-grandchildren, Jacob Ryan, Alec Ryan, Logan Gillespie, Evan Ryan and Ellyson Ryan;
and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Smith.
