Gross, Robert J. – of Montrose, age 96, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Medilodge of Montrose. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church – 17994 Lincoln Rd., in New Lothrop. Rev. Fr. John Cotter officiating with cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am till the time of Mass at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St Michael’s Catholic Church.
Robert was born April 13, 1925, in Maple Grove Township, Michigan, to the late Wesley and Mildred (Bullard) Gross. Robert married his wife Anna Lorencz who preceded him in passing in 2017. Mr. Gross is a U.S. Navy Veteran. He retired from General Motors in 1980 after 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW of New Lothrup #6579. Roberts many hobbies included gardening, cutting wood, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching westerns, polka dancing, and spending time with his pet cat MeMe and dog Skippy.
Surviving are: Sons: Jerry (Linda) Gross, Gary Gross, Dennis Gross; Grandchildren, Tim (Julie) Gross, Joe (Jennifer) Gross, Chrissy (Jeff) Newton, Holly (Dan) Nixon; Great Grandchildren: Jalen (Mary) Gross, Jake (Kourtney) Gross, Justin Gross, Bailey Nixon, Austin Gross, Hannah Gross, Rod Bloss, and Andy Bloss; Great great-grandchildren: Paislee Gross, Phoenix Gross, Addi Gross, Bentley Bloss.
