BOTTI, Lawrence P. – of Flint, MI, age 91, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-12 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or the Arbor Day Foundation in Larry’s memory.
Larry was born in Flint, MI on November 18, 1930, son of the late Louis Botti and Joanna (Bossetti) Botti. He attended the University of Michigan where he studied Architecture and Design and served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1956. Larry married Jeanette Thelen on July 28, 1956 at Holy Trinity Church in Fowler, MI. He was passionate about hockey and was involved in coaching for almost 40 years. Larry coached two local men’s hockey teams to many winning seasons and acted as statistician for Grand Blanc and Davison High Schools for many years. After retirement he continued to use his architectural skills for Holy Rosary Church during their renovations and as part of the St. Joseph Committee.
Larry is survived by 3 daughters, Alicia Botti, Valerie (Dr. Algirdas) Vaitas and Sharon (Michael Waterlander) Botti; 3 granddaughters, Catherine Vaitas, Natalie Vaitas and Madeline Vaitas; in-laws, Elaine and John Partenio, Marie Gagnon, Gayle Botti; many nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Miggy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeanette Botti, his parents, Louis and Joanna Botti; sisters, Marita and Deanna Botti; brother, Richard Botti and infant daughter, Mary Dolores Botti.
