Sharon Dawn Carter, 77, of Clarkston, died Thursday December 14, 2023. She was born January 13, 1946 in Bay City to parents William and Jean (Humphrey) Harsch.
Ms. Carter had a long career, starting as a photographer for the Oakland Press, that opened a door at General Motors where she worked in photography, then as a test driver and finished her career back in photography. Sharon was known as the ‘life of the party’, she loved a party, boating and bonfires. Her laugh was actually one that could fill a room, it was said, that if someone was unsure of where she was at a campground; you could roll your car window down and track her by the laugh. Fun times. If you were invited to her house for a meal, you would be sure to go; she was a fantastic cook, even made hors d’oeuvres. She will be missed. The family would like to extend a warm heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of the Regency at Grand Blanc as well as McLaren Hospice.
Sharon is survived by her siblings: Ronald (Vicky) Harsch of Clarkston, Darlene (David) Bleicher of Deming, NM, nieces & nephews: Joshua (& Ann), Jennifer (& Mike), William, Mathew, Melissa and Paul, II as well as several great: nieces and nephews. Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents.
Her visitation will be 12:30-1:30pm Friday December 22, 2023 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The funeral ceremony will immediately follow, 1:30pm Friday at Muirs. Burial will then take place in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer.
