MILLS, Emily Marie – of Davison, MI, age 29, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Deacon Michael Dear officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Smith Hill Cemetery, Otisville, MI. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-7 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2023 and 10-11 AM Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be donated for a scholarship in Emily’s memory.
Emily was born in Flint, MI on June 21, 1994, beloved daughter of Todd and Natalie (Thurlow) Mills. She was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 2012. After graduation, Emily pursued her passion for mathematics while attending Grand Valley State University. One of Emily's greatest joys was caring for children and animals. Her nurturing spirit brought comfort and joy to those around her. As a testament to her caring nature, Emily had a remarkable talent for gift-giving and the art of gift wrapping. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail made her an excellent gift giver, always considering the desires and needs of others. She derived great joy from bringing happiness to those around her. Emily's creativity was evident through her exceptional talent as a painter. Her artwork showcased her unique perspective and brought beauty into the world. Above all, Emily was a selfless individual who consistently put the needs of others before her own. She had an exceptional ability to empathize with and heal the hearts of those around her. Her acts of kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. Emily’s memory will be cherished forever, and her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire all those who knew her and loved her.
Emily will be deeply missed by her parents, Todd and Natalie Mills; brother, Cory Mills; grandparents, Vern and Sharon Thurlow, Sharon “Grandma Mickey” and Rick Collins; faithful canine companion, Opie Rue; many other loving family members and good friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grandpa Bob and Grandma Smokey and Grandpa George Mills and her uncle, Noel Thurlow.
