SIMS, Conny “Skip” – Of Clio, age 64, died Monday, July 14, 2014 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Terry Bowen officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Those desiring may make contributions to Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease Foundation, 341 W. 38th St., Ste. #501 New York, NY 10018.
Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Conny was born in Paragould, Arkansas on August 13, 1949, the son of R.L. and Fay C. (Wade) Sims.
On May 14, 1999 he married Rebecca S. Moore.
He was a member of the American Pool Association and was on the Board of Governors and was a Rodeo Clown.
He loved his hot rods and enjoyed Back to the Bricks.
Mr. Sims was employed as an Optician at Pearle Vision, Michigan Vision Institute.
Surviving are wife, Rebecca;
children Jenifer (Jon Freel) Bouchard,
Aric (Anjanette) Freiberger,
Rochele (Jason) Gibbs, Angela (Dale) Plumley and
Tracy (David) Muck;
grandchildren, Brianna, Joshua, Avery, Brendon, Dietrich, Tori, Jalen, Ellie, Isaiah, Nolan, Audrey, Samuel, Clayton, Zachary, Lorelei and Blake;
cousin, Larry Wade;
nieces, Samantha and Faye Ann.
He was preceded in death by parents; grandson; brother, Jerry Sims and aunt, Annie Headley.
