Joanne (Beverly Mountain) Dews born January 22, 1933 passed on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the age of 88. There will be no services this time as cremation has taken place. She will return to Dexter, Maine for burial at a later date.
A native of Dexter, Maine, Joanne married Edwin Dews, moving to Michigan, raising their three children in rural Durand. Joanne served in the VFW Auxiliary. Her working days were spent at Leisure Lake, Corunna Court House, a family business, and retiring from Davis Cartage. Joanne enjoyed reading, bowling, and playing cards, before Alzheimer’s stole her independence. She had called Owosso her hometown for twenty-five years.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters; Sharon (Myrl) Hoover of Swartz Creek and Laura Snedeker of Durand, her grandchildren; Corey Shea of Byron, Sean (Taylor) Snedeker of Bancroft, a brother Ronald of Dexter, Maine. Joanne joins her loving family in Heaven, her parents; Bernard and Doris (Schultz) Mountain, her brothers; William, Wayne, and Wade along with her special friend (Norman) Doug Williams.
