SELTZ, Clarence “Chief”– of Otisville, age 80, passed away on July 12, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Monday, July 17, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center St, Otisville, MI 48463, Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Burial will be in Dodge Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-8PM Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church.
Clarence Seltz was born in Sherman Township, Michigan on December 9, 1942. His parents were Arnold and Alma (Geiger) Seltz. On April 23, 1966, he married Jenny Pluciennik in Parisville, Michigan.
Clarence was a proud member of Local 324 Operating Engineers for 60 years. Years after his retirement in 2002, he pursued his passion for farming and took over the family farm located in Ruth, Michigan.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Clarence was known for his inventive and innovative nature. He was skilled in fabrication and had a talent for creating new things.
Clarence was also a devoted father to his daughters, and he cherished the title of being a "girl dad." He held a deep love for his children, family, and friends, always willing to go the extra mile to support and care for them.
Clarence was an amazing husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife, Jenny; 5 daughters; Nancy (Rob) Komar, Linda (Jeff) Cyr, Sherry (Philip) Doherty, Donna (Deepak) Bains and Michelle (Kelly) Good; 7 grandchildren, Trevor, Jaclyn, Kelly Jr., Carly, Caden, Linkoln and Dev; siblings, Frances Winkel and Patricia (Leroy) Elliott; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Charles Seltz and sister, Doris Bischer.
