Gonzales, Dora M. age 88 of Flint passed away on Feb. 24, 2014 at Willowbrook Manor. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 2316 W. Coldwater Rd. Flint. Family will receive visitors from 11-7 pm Friday, Feb. 28 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint. A 7 pm Rosary service will be held Friday evening. Family will receive visitors from 9 am until time of service Saturday morning at the church. Fr. Gary McInnis officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Dora was born September 16, 1925 in Shepard, MI the daughter of Rayes and Trenidad (Pulido) Lopez. Mother was raised at a very young age in Mexico and returned to the U.S. as a very young woman. She endured many obstacles, including Tuberculosis but as everything else in life, she overcame it. She loved life to its fullest and her laughter was contagious. Dora enjoyed going on family trips to Florida, Chinese food, Native American Culture, Casino’s, bingo and had a collection of angel figurines. Dora was survived by her children: Emma and Jim Vallaire of FL, Betrice (Jamie LehmKuhle) Gonzales of Flushing, and Paul (Jami Bigelow) Gonzales of Flint; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, brother Alfred Lopez of Flint, sister Gloria Portillo of TX, special friend who gave her love and time, Mary Cochrane. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Martha Lopez, brother Gilbert Lopez, sister-in-law Patricia Lopez, nephews Joe Lopez and Luis Portillo and nieces Gloria Lopez and Rosa Portillo. Special gratitude to Willowbrook Manor, their staff for their care and support.
