Keith A. Smith, 73, of Mayville, formerly of Flint died following a lengthy illness Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in Bayfield Assisted Living of Bay City. He was born June 20, 1951 in Flint to J.C. and Dorothy (Kruger) Smith.
Keith graduated from Durand High School in 1969 and immediately began his career working for General Motors in their Flint Metal Center. He retired approximately forty years later. In his younger years, Keith enjoyed playing softball. In more recent years, he played on various golf leagues. Keith enjoyed riding his 2004 Harley Davidson and time spent in Gladwin at “bow camp” deer hunting. He was a huge Michigan State Spartan fan. Keith was also a Kingston sports supporter. He devotedly and proudly attended his grandchildren’s sporting events, sometimes traveling a long distance.
Keith is survived by his daughter: Lacey (Todd) Roberson; son, Carlos Reis; grandchildren: Dezerick Carter, Malawi Roberson, Cullen Roberson, Marcella Reis, Cason Reis; brothers: Ken (Debi) Smith, Mark (wife, Carolyn Ewig Baringer) Smith; sister-in-law, Betty Smith; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, an expansive extended family, friends, and former colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: James Smith, Gerald Smith, Lawrence Smith.
Memorial service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kingston Music Program c/o Kingston Community Schools.
