SPARKS, Leonard Ray – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 1PM Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Dar Blanshan officiating. Burial will take place in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison VFW Post # 4087, in Leonard’s memory.
Leonard was born in Flint, Michigan on December 21, 1933, son of the late Joseph and Christine (Wagnitz) Sparks. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Leonard married Doris Reek on April 2, 1955, in Lapeer, MI. He retired from General Motors in 1985 after 32 years of service. Leonard enjoyed woodworking, bowling, hunting and was generally a “busy” guy who liked to do many things.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Doris Sparks; 5 children, Michael (Sheri), Mark, Lori (Jeff) Finley, Tim (Lisa) and Todd; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother, Harry (Marge) Sparks; in-laws, Jim Petty; many other loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings.
