MUNSON, Peggy Lou – of Clio, age 78, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. No services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hurley Foundation or Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Peggy was born January 20, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Merle and Alice (Crothers) Kriseler. She graduated from Birch Run High School with the class of 1964. Peggy married Dale Owen Munson, Sr. on July 22, 1967, and they enjoyed many happy years together before his passing in 1990. She served as the manager of Goal Post Pizza in Birch Run for many years and later worked in the cafeteria at North Elementary in Birch Run, where she remained until her retirement in 2012. Peggy truly valued the many people she met throughout her career and had a special love for the children at the school, who brought her joy every day. She had a passion for crafting, especially crocheting, and was incredibly talented - known for making handmade Cabbage Patch dolls, cozy blankets, and beautiful outfits that were always ready for any new baby. Peggy was also an avid reader who found joy in a good book. With a generous spirit and a heart full of love, her home was always warm and welcoming - the place to be when her children were growing up. It was filled with laughter, and the constant presence of her children's friends, who knew they were always welcome. Peggy created a loving environment where everyone felt at ease, and she’ll be fondly remembered for her famous sloppy joes, which she was well known for and everyone loved.
Surviving are: Sons: Dale (Lori Anne) Munson, Jr., and Jeff (Sandi) Munson; Daughter, Jen (Jon) Munson; Grandchildren: Emily, Victoria, Kaitlyn, Alicen, Ostyn, and Ryder; Sister, Dawn (Andy) Rewa; Brother, Wes (Carol) Segar; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Peggy was also preceded in death by: Granddaughter, Becki Munson; Brother, Larry Kriseler; Stepfather, Richard Segar; Stepmother, Gertrude Kriseler.
