SPENCE, Dolores Mae - Age 96, of Grand Blanc, passed peacefully at Regency of Grand Blanc, with family by her side, Saturday, September 19, 2026. Services will be held 1 PM Monday, September 28, 2026 in the Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, 3415 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. Chaplain Adam Doyle officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430 or The Humane Society of Genesee County, G-3325 S. Dort Hwy, Burton, MI 48529. Dolores was born May 16, 1930, in Flint, the daughter of Harry Charles and Mildred Elizabeth (Vreeland) Sliger. She had resided in Genesee County for her entire life. Dolores was the mother of 8 children (four boys and four girls). She loved her family and they loved her very much, too. She was a wonderful artist and loved to paint landscapes and wildlife. She also loved to make jewelry and enjoyed crafting. She loved her rescue dogs, Nalla and Pepper. Surviving are her children, Jeanette (Paul) Valentine of Ypsilanti, Charles (Debbie) Spence of Burton, Debora (Joseph) Gorey of Swartz Creek, Laura Spence of Nashville, TN, Karen Jamison of Swartz Creek, and Steven Spence of Nashville, TN; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; half-sister, Linda (Jim) Hockemeyer of Hope; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, William James Spence and Robert Michael Spence; granddaughters, Tiana Ronee Casabon-Nainer and Jamie Lynn Jamison; and 6 siblings, Earl, James, and Leo Sliger and Elizabeth Pearce, Yvonne Nyman, and Roberta Ewald. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Regency of Grand Blanc for their kindness and professionalism during her stay with them, as well as the wonderful people at McLaren Hospice for their excellent care and support. |
