FREDERICK, Jack D. - Of Burton, age 86, died Saturday, April 7, 2018
at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Eddie Phillips officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Burton Senior Center or to the family.
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday and 12-3pm and 5-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jack was born in Hackleburg, Alabama on June 28, 1931, the son of the late Phinas and Zolar Frederick. On August 1, 1963, he married Beverly Chittick in Flint. Jack retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. Mr. Frederick served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He received the Korean Service Medal, Purple Heart, United Nation Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Jack was a member of the Burton Senior Center. He loved dancing and gardening.
Surviving are daughter, Sherri Frederick (Montee Prieur);
grandchildren, Emily Frederick, Sarah and husband Chase Slater, Ashley Beaudoin (Joe DeBuysser) and Alyssa Beaudoin (Ashley Gaiser);
great-grandchildren, Austin, Awna and Ashton Frederick and Maxx and Jase Bobo;
many nieces and nephews;
lifelong friend, Barney Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, son, Kirk Frederick, sisters, Darlene Ingram, Dorothy Walker, Doris Jean Lawrence, Lillian DeWitt, Inez Miller and brother, Theotis Frederick.
