MONZO, Gerald – of Grand Blanc, MI, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Road, Flint, MI 48507. Pastor Rob Prince officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Gerald was born in Sanilac County, MI on September 8, 1935, son of the late Frank and Mary (Butler) Monzo. He married Betty Gallaway on August 28, 1954 in Flint, MI. Gerald worked at GM for 42 years. He loved to do woodworking and music. Gerald was a long-time member of the Central Church of the Nazarene.
Gerald is survived by wife of 68 years, Betty; children, Sharon (Dennis) Hile, Greg Monzo, Gayle (Jeff) Hewitt and Bethany (Roy) Martin; grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) Hile, Joshua Monzo, Amy Hile, Megan (Chris) Hewitt, Melissa (Justin) Drake, Kimmy (Spencer) Bailey and Morgan (Josh) Buck; 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister-in-law, Marjorie Adams; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Frank (Lucy) Monzo; sister, Mary Jean (Richard) Bement, half-brothers, Elywin (Betty) Phillips and Archie (June) Phillips; mother-in-law, Pearl Gallaway; brother-in-law, Charles Adams.
