BUFFA, Elaine – of Flint, MI, age 90, passed away on October 5, 2022 at The Pines of Burton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 noon Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Dieudonne Ntakarutimana celebrant. Interment will take place following the Mass at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Monday, October 10, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Monday at the funeral home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Replenish Community Foundation (fillthebag.org).
Elaine was born in Flint, MI on April 16, 1932, daughter of the late Wilfred and Evelyn (Potter) DeSerres. She married the love of her life, Joseph Buffa on April 7,1951 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2012. Elaine attended St. Michael Catholic School and she graduated CUM Laude. Elaine loved camping, skiing, motorcycle trips, loved traveling and gardening. She was very active in her church and with prayer groups. Elaine loved being an Avon Sales Representative.
Elaine is survived by children, Joseph Buffa, Christine Branch, Denise (Tom Rusch) Maxwell, John Buffa, Robert Buffa, Tamara Buffa-Harbin and Dennis Buffa; grandchildren, Ryan and Joshua (Katie) Maxwell, Lisa (Erinn) Beckner, Bobby (Lisa) Buffa, Stacey (Adam) McEwen, Rachel (Jason) Pavlick, Jacob and Neil Harbin, Joshua and Kyle Buffa; great-grandchildren, Maria, Jack, Avery, Caitlyn, Sebastian, Olivia, Oscar, Holly and Luigi; siblings; Mark Dragoy, Darlene Higgins and Martha (Joe) Collison; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters, Yvonne Harris, Louella Mason and Beverly Scholl. The family would like to give a special thank you to Kindred Hospice and The Pines Assisted Living of Burton.
