SPENCER, Dae-Shawn - Of Flint, age 28, died Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Per Dae-Shawn's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held 2pm Friday, March 24, 2023
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 12pm Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Dae-Shawn's children's education.
Dae-Shawn was born in Flint, Michigan on November 2, 1994 the son of Penny Gilbert and Eric Spencer. He graduated from Flint Youth Build Program and attended Mott Community College. Dae-Shawn enjoyed video games and spending time with his children. Dae-Shawn was employed by Grupo Antolin in Howell.
Surviving are children, Alexander Spencer and Malana Spencer;
parents, Penny Gilbert and Eric Spencer;
grandmother, Marlene Shannon;
brothers, Jeremy Gilbert, Eric Spencer Jr., Chris Peoples, and Jordan Taylor;
sister, Felisha Spencer;
and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clifford Gilbert, cousin, Ashlee Book-Gilbert, grandmother, Erma Margaret Spencer and grandfather, James Henry Spencer and aunt, Paula R. Clark.
