Larry Alden Lockrey, 77, of Columbiaville, died Saturday, March 21, 2015.
Larry was born January 20, 1938 in Flint to parents Garld R. and Verna Jean (O’Brien) Lockrey. He graduated from North Branch High School, class of 1956. He married Gladys Eden on June 21, 1958 in Lapeer. Larry served his country in the National Guard. He worked as a millwright at Pontiac Motors for 30 years. Larry was an avid fisherman and golfer. He loved the outdoors, particularly camping and was often found reading near the camp fire. Larry also loved the seventeen years that he and Gladys wintered in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Larry is survived by his wife, Gladys Lockrey; three daughters: Suzanne (Kurt) Hausauer of Lapeer, Roxanne (Bob) Voltenburg of Davison and Amy (Jerry) Ostrander of Davison; seven grandchildren: Rick, Nathan, Nicole, Michael, Alex, Torey and Katrina; two brothers: LeRoy (Janet) Lockrey of Zolfo Springs, FL and Pat Lockrey of Fostoria. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cheryl Lockrey and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 3-8PM Tuesday, March 24, 2015 and 9-11AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Larry’s funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer Pastor Josh Woods officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice.
