PENROD, BOBBY R., SR.– Husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Bob was born on April 28, 1934 to the parents of William Hosea Penrod and Eva (Bolden) Penrod in Bearden, Arkansas.
Bobby spent his youth in and around Anna, IL, where he met his future wife, Shirley Tibbs.
Bob and Shirley were married on July 16, 1955 in Flint, MI.
Bob moved to Flint in 1954 to work at General Motors. He worked at the Flint Metal Fabricating Plant from 1954 until retirement in 1984.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley;
Their children, Bobby Penrod, Jr. of Flint, Ricky (Mary) Penrod of Swartz Creek and Cheryl (Wade) Edwards of Critz, VA.
He leaves behind 3 grandsons, Jeffrey (Brianna) Penrod of Swartz Creek, Jason (Lindi) Penrod of Navarre, FL and Anthony Courtney of NC.
He also leaves 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, mother, beloved brother, Junior (Esther) Penrod of Owosso, MI and sisters, Juanita (Curtis) Yancy of Owosso, MI and Bernice (Bill) Kneezel of Marion, IL.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
