MCAVINCHEY, Patrick – of Davison, age 95, passed away December 4, 2020 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison. Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of Mass on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
Patrick was born in Oelwein, IA on October 17, 1925, son of the late Frank and Florence (Perry) McAvinchey. He married Jane Ann Jacobs and she preceded him in death. He married Anna Belle (Callis) Davis and she preceded him in death. Pat served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947. He co-owned and operated Gould Engineering for 20 years. Pat was a member of the Rotary Club and many organizations at St. John Catholic Church. He served on many different boards for the county and city. Pat was an Interim County Road Commissioner at one point and on the Davison School Board. He was a long-time member of the Moon Growlers on Drummond Island. Pat was on many other volunteer organizations that are, literally, too numerous to mention.
Patrick is survived by his children, Michael, Richard (Ellen), Donald (Berta), Robert, Mary (Jose), Alisa (Don), Frank (Sharon) and Daniel; 14 grandchildren: 9 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Susan Davis, Thomas (Paula) Davis and Catherine Amboy; sibling; brother, Thomas (Carolyn) and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sons, Timothy and David, brother, Joseph and sister, Helen Harbin.
