Marjorie was born in Flint, Michigan on March 18, 1930, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Evelyn (Sharland) Curtiss. She graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1948.

Marjorie leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth as the devoted mother of Larry and Jung Strong, Diane (Strong) and Lynn Niswonger, Marsha (Strong) Andrews, Randall and Joanie Strong, and Marjorie (Strong) Meyer.

She was a caring grandmother to Julie White, Michael (Amy) Strong, Thomas Strong, Ann (Thomas) Epperson, Craig (Nicole) Niswonger, Janel Andrews, Kevin Andrews, Scott Strong, Sarah Strong, Emily Strong, Annabelle Sullivan, Stephine (Aaron) Wiskirchen, Sabrina Meyer, and Curtis (Rian) Meyer.

A dear grandmother to 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A beloved sister to Arthur Curtiss and a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marjorie as a teenager got her first job as a switchboard operator. She worked for her grandfather (George Sharland) who owned the Grand Blanc Telephone Company. At times, she sat side by side with her sisters Betty Lou and Peggy as they worked the busy switchboard. For a small town it was full of excitement from the every day hustle and bustle of life. Although she was born and resided in Flint she loved spending all her weekends, summers and any day she could in the small town of Grand Blanc at Grandma and Grandpas house.

Marjorie loved having her morning coffee on the deck and spending endless hours outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, filling all the feeders and there was always plenty of yard work to keep one busy. She was known by many as “the lady on the tractor” By the days end, she relaxed on the glider, with a cold glass of lemonade, while watching her trusted dog Molly play and run around the big empty lot.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, making crafts, having Friday “fun nights” with family, playing board games, watching home movies and eating popcorn. Her hospitality extended to hosting every holiday at her home, where Christmas with Santa was a cherished tradition. New Years Eve was playing Pictionary and toasting at midnight.

Marjorie had a deep affection for traveling up north to Charlevoix, Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Camping in Harrisville, East Tawas and Oscoda. Her favorite pastime she shared with her children and grandchildren was a yearly weekend trip to the Grand Hotel during the Lilac festival.

She was always surrounded by family, friends and loved ones, sharing memories while having 4:00 o’clock tea with treats and reading tea leaves to the grandchildren.

Marjorie was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Flint.

She retired after many years from what began as AC Rochester, then AC Delco and finally as Delphi in 1993.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and team at WellBridge of Clarkston for the love, devotion and continued care given to Marjorie. She deeply cared and embraced you all.

Kind-hearted, humorous, and endlessly generous, Marjorie's warm smile and witty sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Evelyn Curtiss, her sisters Betty Lou (Curtiss) Dunkel, Margaret (Peggy) (Curtiss) Latzoas, and her son-in-law Gary Andrews.
