HUMMEL, Reba J. - Of Burton, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 19, 2023.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 South Genesee Road, Burton, MI 48519, Pastor Mark Matheny officiating.
Burial at Crestwood Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
Visitation 3-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the service.
Reba was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on October 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Raymond and L. Marie (McGriff) Gosbin. She married Howard Hummel on April 25, 1953 in South Bend, Indiana at Emmaus Lutheran Church. Reba was employed as an Administrative Assistant at GM Institute (Kettering) for 30 years. She was a member at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Burton from its inception in 1968 until her passing. Reba was active in the Ladies Guild at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She enjoyed needlepoint and quilting. Reba was a blessing to her entire family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 70 years, Howard;
sister, Barbara McPherson of Phoenix, Arizona;
brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law along with several nieces and nephews,
