HORN, Sandra S. (Tompkins-Smith) – of Otisville, age 78, died after a tragic accident, on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Greg Capsel officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 2PM until the time of service at 3PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Charlevoix Family Camp.
Sandra was born January 22, 1943, in Flint, Michigan to the late Gordon and Anna Marie (Sims) Tompkins. She attended Dye schools and later attended Warner South Pacific College for 2 years. Sandra married Eric Smith, and together adopted their daughter, Katrina Smith. The two later separated. She was later married by the Rev. Jack Dunn to Gerald “Jerry” Horn on June 29, 1991. They enjoyed 30 wonderful years of marriage together. She was the office manager with H-Care for over 25 years before retiring in 2020. Sandra knew the love for her Lord and was a current member of Millington Church of God and former member of West Court St. Church of God where she was an active leader for Stephen Ministries. She enjoyed volunteering and being a host at the Clio Senior Center. Sandra had a giving heart and loved helping people anyway she could. She enjoyed word and crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and playing games. Sandra was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Loving husband, Jerry Horn; Daughter, Katrina Smith; Stepdaughter, Sheri Mueller; Stepson, Timothy Horn; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; Brother, Robert L. (Susan) Tompkins; Stepsister, Melynda Brownlow; Nieces: Catherine (Tom) Bryde, Michele Tompkins (Corwin Legleitner), Janine (John) Danko, and Justine Kelley; Nephew, Robert Tompkins Jr.; Numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
