HAWLEY, Darrell R. – of Clio, age 87, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Honoring his wishes, cremation will be taking place. Private graveside service will be held in Thetford Township Cemetery at a later date.
Darrell was born May 16, 1933 in Thetford Township, Michigan to the late Roscoe and Marjorie (Rockwell) Hawley. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School and later attended GMI as a tool & die maker. Darrell married Jadwiga Filiczkowski on July 3, 1957. She preceded him in death January 15, 2011. He retired from General Motors – Ternstedt in 1996 with 43 years seniority. Mr. Hawley is a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio. Darrell loved gardening and had an apple orchard for many years. He enjoyed keeping up his lawn and spending time at his place on the lake in Harrisville.
Surviving are: Daughter, Cathy Lenda; Son, Randy (Shari) Hawley; Grandchildren: Robert Allen, Joseph (Jamie) Lenda, Matthew Lenda, and Kevin (Danielle) Hawley; Great grandchildren: Naudia Rose Allen, Riley Hawley, and Colt Hawley. Darrell was also preceded in death by: Grandsons: Michael K. Allen, and Craig R. Hawley; Brother, Dallas Hawley.
