Pat was born in Flint, Michigan on May 29, 1955, one of ten children born to Charles and Rose (Rosipko) Hyrman. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, honorably discharged in 1981. He worked at GM, Hartman and Tyner Inc., then at International Academy of Flint. Pat’s deep love and pride for his family was evident. He would spend as much time as he could with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. His family and friends were his greatest joy in life. To him, family was significant. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, hunting, and camping. He was always up for playing board or card games, but Euchre was his favorite. He was a gifted raconteur. He could capture anyone’s attention with his storytelling. Pat was an MSU and Detroit Lions fan. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Pat was hired in 1999, as the first Facility Manager at the International Academy of Flint, (IAF). He was involved in the startup of the school in its inception with the renovation and addition, which was no easy task. In addition, he assisted in IAF’s future building growth where IAF had a max of 1200 students. Pat was a wonderful employee who understood the meaning of the word "team". He had great relations with the vendors he contracted with and he was easy to work with. He was always more focused on the good of IAF and the department than on his own benefit. He made many great contributions to IAF and helped it move forward in numerous ways. He was deeply committed to the students, staff and community. He counted the staff as dear friends. Pat will be deeply missed by all and will be remembered by his
commitment and love for IAF. IAF is a better place because of Pat.
Pat is survived by his children, Adam and wife Tarah Hyrman, Jordan Hyrman; grandchildren, Jaidyn, Keegan, Maverick, Lincoln, Alex; mother of his children, Michele and her husband Bud Harbert; siblings, Mary Anne (John) Weishaar, Joäo José Pessini Rodrigues, Mike (Diane) Hyrman, Rosemarie (Larry) Ludwig, Joe Hyrman, Cecilia (Murray) Johansen, Agnes (Mark) Shrewsbury; sister-in-law, Patricia Hyrman; brother-in-law, Tim Anthony; many nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs, Scout and Nina; and his lifelong friends, “Da Boise:” Steve, Mark, Frank and Tim.
