SANDY, Marlene Gail. – of Clio, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 At Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12PM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at North End Baptist Church - 7360 Clio Rd., in Mt Morris.
Marlene was born October 8, 1950 in Flint, Michigan and raised by the late Peter Olejnik, Sr. and Patricia Sandy. She graduated from Northwestern High School. Marlene was a bus driver with the City of Flint for many years. She retired from General Motors - V8 Engine in 2008 with over 30 years seniority and was a proud member of the UAW Local #659. Marlene enjoyed dancing and was one of the founding members of the Great Lakes Swing Dance Club. She also enjoyed shopping, crafting, and hanging out with her yahoo sisters. Above all, Marlene loved spending time with her family and being a grandma.
Surviving are: Daughter, Lindsey R. Sproule; Sons: Jason R. Fletcher, and Christopher (Amber) Fletcher; Grandchildren: Vivian M. Talford, Jaden C. Talford, Joslyn M. Talford, Raelin M. Sproule, Roman W. Sproule, Tessa M. Fletcher, and Lilly M. Fletcher, Several other grandchildren and great grandchildren; Brothers: Peter H. Olejnik, Jr., and Dwight Olejnik; Sisters: Carla J. (John) Jensen, and Tania (Bob) Reid; Many cousins, other loving family members and dear friends.
