KOTCHER (ELSON), VIOLA MAE – Age 90, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc, MI.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI.
Mrs. Kotcher will be at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service, Reverend Robert Scott officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, 3415 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI.
Viola was born in Missouri on August 25, 1931, the daughter of Jerome Elmer and Francis (Gifford) Elson. She grew up in Idaho and moved to Michigan, where she married William Kotcher on September 17, 1966.
She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Rainbow Bread, Dow Chemical, Home Builders Association and Prudential, Anderson & Wilson Realtors.
Viola enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, playing games and working with numbers. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandma, who dedicated her life to her children. She had a heart of gold and was loved by all.
Viola loved the Lord and her faith in Christ was an essential part of her life.
Surviving are her children, daughter, Corrine (Kevin) Walworth of Davison, MI;
son, William (Stephanie) Kotcher of Houston, TX;
four grandsons, Kaden and Kamden Walworth, William "Nash" and Brody Kotcher;
two granddaughters, Kyla Walworth and Devan (Logan) Dodge;
one great-granddaughter, Madelynn;
and many nieces and nephews, with a special mention to Eileen Day.
Viola was preceded in death by her five brothers, Lloyd (Julia) Elson, Alvin (Pearl) Elson, Lawrence (Edna) Elson, Robert (Lois) Elson and William (Edith) Elson.
