Wesley Ray Aho, a devoted family man and a proud Marine, peacefully passed away February 25, 2026 at the age of 95.
Born on April 9, 1930 in Trout Creek, Michigan. He was the firstborn son of Nelson and Ida Aho. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 73 years, Donna. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Russell (Doris), Douglas (Sharon). He is survived by his loving sons, Dennis, Mark (Beth) and Michael (Joyce). He is also survived by his grandchildren Eric, George and Michael and his great-grandchildren and by his brother Nelson (Marsha).
Wesley graduated from Flint Northern High School and soon after met his sweetheart Donna Hicks at a dance hall in Clio and he married her on July 7, 1951. Wesley was a proud U.S. Marine and served in the Korea War. They raised their family in Flint before moving to Clio. He loved traveling back to Trout Creek and loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his friends and family. He was a hardworking man who worked at General Motors as a tool and dye maker. He also owned a small company Gentec, with his brother Russ, after retiring from General Motors where he continued his trade of tool and dye. Wesley loved gardening and canning. He loved good food and he and his brothers were nicknamed the “health kings”. He also had a passion for flying and had his own airplane. Wes was also a Free Mason and a Shriner. Wes and Donna enjoyed traveling around the country to attend Marine reunions. He was a loving husband, father and Papa.
Family will receive friends at 10am Friday, April 17, 2026 until the time of the funeral service at 11:30am at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507. Pastor Steve Wood officiating. A committal service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
