STAUDACHER, James Norman – of Davison, MI, age 90, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI, 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, in Jim’s memory.
Jim was born in Flint, MI on August 26, 1935, son of the late Norman and Lucy (Valade) Staudacher.
He was a graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School in Flint, MI, Class of 1953. On May 15, 1982, Jim married Peggy Schultz, in Ortonville, MI. Together, they built a life filled with companionship, laughter, and shared memories. Jim devoted 44 years of his career to General Motors Metal Fab, where he worked as a skilled die maker before retiring in 2000. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him. A man of deep faith, Jim was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and an active member of Davison’s Bishop Albers Council 4090 and the Ardon F. Dubie Fourth Degree Assembly 0523. He was also a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison, MI, where he generously served as an usher for many years.
Jim found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time on the golf course, camping and traveling in his RV, dancing, and bowling. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with warmth and laughter. Jim will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his work and community, and the kindness and joy he brought to those around him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Peggy Staudacher; 4 children, Cathy (Ted) Houghtaling, Debbie (Trevor) Tew, Teresa Sztanya and Janet Trune; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kay Staudacher; nephew, Mike (Diane) Staudacher; sadly missed by his beloved Maltipoo, Lexi; many other loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Lucy Staudacher; first wife, Carol L. Staudacher; son, Robert Staudacher and brother, Jack (Joan) Staudacher.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Shannon and her dedicated team at Heart to Heart Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they provided. Their support, comfort, and unwavering professionalism brought peace and will always be remembered with heartfelt appreciation.
