Jones, Peggy J. (Hewitt) – of Clio, age 97, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 30, 2023, with family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at West Vienna United Methodist Church - 5485 W Wilson Rd, Clio, MI. Burial to follow to Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Carol J. Freeland will officiate. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 3PM until 7PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, and on Wednesday at Church from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to West Vienna United Methodist Church.
Peggy was born August 23, 1926, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Berneda (Sears) Hewitt. She married her soul mate Max Jones in November of 1943; they shared 73 wonderful years together. Peggy was an avid member of the West Vienna United Methodist Church, possibly being one of the oldest members in Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and spending time with one of her hobby clubs. Peggy enjoyed staying busy and enjoying life to the fullest. More than anything she was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend who will be missed by many.
Surviving are: Sons: Darrell (Mary) Jones and Randy (Jean) Jones; 1 Grandchild; 5 Step-Grandchildren; She was blessed with many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews. The family would like to send heart felt condolences to Gentiva Hospice, for all the love and compassion for Peggy.
