Carol Ann Gall, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Veronica and Joseph Gall in Oregon, Ohio on March 1, 1937. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas School, where she was a life long parishioner. She graduated from St. Ursula Academy. Carol, an only child, married and had six children. She chose to be a stay at home mom and was involved with all the kid’s extracurricular activities. When her children were grown, she began working and retired from the University of Toledo with 19 years of service and was a member of the Northwood V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Carol’s family was the center of her universe, especially her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. Carol leaves to cherish her memory, former spouse and friend, Cruz Basquez, children: Darlene (Jeff) Langenderfer, Joseph (Mary) Basquez, Philip Basquez, David Basquez, Veronica (Steve) Kemp, and Robert Basquez; grandchildren, Kristen and Aaron Langenderfer, Rachael and Amanda Basquez, Anthony and Nicole Shoemaker, Brianne (John) Hagemann, Alicia Weatherwax, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tommy, Lucas, Austin, Hunter, Johnny and Alex.
Family and friends may visit at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, Ohio, on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9 a.m. and continue on to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church or ProMedica Hospice.
