James Edward “Ed” Perry of Mt. Morris, formerly of Pontiac and Hawks, MI, went home peacefully to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 24, 2022, surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Charles and Helena Church - 230 E. Vienna St. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin celebrant. Burial will take place at Christian Memorial Gardens in Rochester Hills. The family will receive visitors from 2PM until 6:30PM Friday, May 27, 2022, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio and at the church Saturday from 9:30AM until the time of mass. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30PM, Friday evening, at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Charles and Helena Church.

Ed was born January 7, 1944, in Llewellyn, Kentucky, to the late John and Peggy (Jump) Perry. He worked as a tool grinder at General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1991. On October 3, 1964, Ed married the love of his life, Janice Ann Roberts, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. He was a proud member of St. Charles and Helena Church in Clio for many years and loved his parish family very much. Ed enjoyed playing tennis and loved his firearms. He was a master shooter with handguns and an expert long-range shooter. Above all, Ed was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ed is forever loved by his children: Mark (Lisa) Perry, Brigid Keisling, Christopher (Gretchen) Perry, Beth (Mike) Lafata, and Matthew (Christina) Perry; Grandchildren: Michael Perry, Anthony Perry, Hunter Perry, Colten Perry, Gage Perry, Bree Keisling, Josh (Kennedy) Keisling, Lauren Perry, Rachel Perry, Ruben (Casey) Posada, Michael Lafata and Grace Perry; Great-grandson: Jackson Posada; and Ed’s extended grandchildren: Leigha (Brandon) Nichols, Krista (Jake) Wakeman, and Jason (Alaina) Wakeman. Siblings: Tim (Debbie) Perry and Karen (Willy) Brown; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents: John and Peggy; Siblings: Larry (Edna) Perry and John Perry.
