SWIRE, Eileen E. – of Clio, age 87, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Susan Ramage officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-7PM and on Saturday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to Alcohol Anonymous.
Eileen was born August 4, 1927 in Flint to the late George and Lucy (Smith) Ramage. She married Elton Swire in November of 1947. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2014. She lived in the Beecher district moving to Clio in 1989. She was a graduate of Hurley School of Nursing and was a cadet Nurse in the US Army. She was a Registered Nurse and retired as Director of Nursing from McLaren Hospital in 1985 with 25 years seniority.
Surviving are: sons, Steven Swire of Clio, George (Penny) Swire of Titusville, FL; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Naomi Bryant of Clio; nieces and nephews.
