Lemonds, Janice L. of Davison, age 82 peacefully passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at The Raspberry Manor Assisted Living in Goodrich MI. Due to the Covid pandemic, the family wishes to have a private graveside service with burial in the family plot at The Maple Cemetery in Grand Blanc, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Janice’s memory to ALS of Michigan www.alsofmichigan.org, or any organization of your choice.
Janice was born in Flint Michigan on January 27, 1938, the only daughter of the late James and Margie (Shinabarger) Cocke and resided in the Davison area since 1972. On July 7 1962 She married Donald Lemonds and together they proudly raised 4 children. Donald preceded Janice in death on January 11, 2011.
Janice was a dedicated Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed all the time spent with them, including watching the many events in which they participated. Janice looked forward to her yearly vacation to Hilton Head and spoke of the many laughs shared with her Sister and Brother-in-Laws: Roy and Carlene Fanning & Chuck and Sue Huff.
Janice and her husband owned and operated The Big D Party Story in Flint for twenty four years until her retirement. Janice returned to work and was a proud employee of VG’s in Davison for twenty five years. Janice loved VG’s, the associates, and her loyal customers of whom she spoke of often.
Leaving to cherish her memory are children: Mark (Stephanie) Lemonds, Michael (Dawn) Lemonds, Kelly (Steve) Carpenter and Denise (John) Bushnell. Janice also leaves Grandchildren: Ashley Pratt, Brittani, Kendall, Lauren and Justin Lemonds, Lindsey (Haider) Carpenter, Katelyn Carpenter, Trevor and Mitchell Bushnell, and her Great Grandchildren: Destannie, Jazmine, Drake, Caleb, Benjamin, Lily, Laila, and Malik. Brother Donald (Judy), Sister-in-Law Susan Cocke, Sister and Brother-in-Laws Roy and Carlene Fanning & Chuck and Sue Huff. Janice is preceded in death by siblings: James (Donna) Cocke, Duane and Jerry Cocke.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the Staff at Raspberry Manor: Christina, Margaret, Marlene, and Tasha. Heart to Heart Hospice, nurses: Kelly, Ellen, Andrea, and Nadia.
