Catherine Theresa Stock, 92, a lifelong resident of Elba Township, passed away on December 17, 2022. She was born on October 10, 1930 in Lapeer to parents Claude and Elinora (Sullivan) Stock.
After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan, Catherine began teaching for Atherton Schools. She was the definition of an educator and eventually earned her Master’s Degree in teaching as well. Catherine retired from teaching after 40 years. Living her whole life on the family farm in Elba Twp., Catherine grew up to absolutely adore animals. There isn’t a photo from when she was young without some sort of farm animal or family pet in her arms. Most recently, her cat of 12 years was her closest companion. Catherine loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and she will be truly missed by many.
Catherine is survived by her nephew John (Kathy) Stock of Lapeer, niece Marypat (Craig) Johnson of Illinois; great nieces and nephews: John (jeri Lynn) Stock, Anna (Christopher) Deane, Amber (Jordan) Price and Katie (Shane) Liston; 7 great-great nieces and nephews as well. Catherine was preceded in death by her brother Paul (Pat) Stock and her aforementioned parents.
Visitation for Catherine will be held on December 28, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on December 28th at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held the following day at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison at Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or the Holy Sacrifice of Mass. Please share memories and condolences at www.muirbrotherslapeer.com |
