VAN HOUTEN, Mark R. - Of Flint, age 52, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 3pm Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 4-8pm Sunday and 12noon Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mark was born in Flint on November 14, 1961, the son of Robert and Evelyn (Koviak) Van Houten. He graduated from Linden High School, Class of 1980. He then graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute. Mark enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, working on cars and watching NASCAR.
Surviving are daughter, Jenna Van Houten and fiancé Phillip Welch;
parents, Robert and Evelyn Van Houten;
brother, Michael and fiancé Robin McGuinn;
sisters, Robin Moore and Judy and husband Mike Fargo;
many nieces and nephews.
